Frequently asked questions
-
Concierge medicine is a limited size practice, often a fraction of a normal sized practice. This allows for unhurried visits, short wait times, and the ability for the doctor to truly know the patient and personalize their care.
Our patients are typically taken directly back for their appointment as soon as they arrive. No online check in, no waiting at a kiosk, no busy waiting room, no long list of questionnaires, and no copay. We can typically accommodate same day or next day appointments.
You can reach our doctors via email or text with questions as they arise, or book a phone, video, or office visit to discuss an issue.
-
We consider ourselves the best of both. We offer the insurance-free model of direct primary care (DPC) with the highest level of personalized care associated with concierge medicine.
We are much smaller than some DPC clinics allowing more time and attention to our smaller patient base.
Unlike some concierge clinics, we do not bill insurance and our membership fees are simple and transparent.
-
A simple fee is due once yearly which grants you access to year-round care at no extra cost. We charge only 2 other fees - one for house calls and one for after-hours treatment.
-
No, we do not accept any form of insurance. As a direct primary care clinic, we work directly with you without insurance as a middleman.
-
Yes. Primary care is comprehensive, but cannot do everything. You will benefit from insurance to cover emergency room visits, hospitalizations, medical tests, medicines, specialty care, and other items. Let your insurance company know what kind of primary care you are receiving, they may be able to offer you a more affordable plan that saves you money overall.
-
Since these items cannot be provided in the primary care office, these will be the responsibility of the patient. Your health insurance will assist in covering these items. In 2025 we are hoping to launch availability of select medications in the clinic, please check back for more details.
-
Although we do not accept insurance, we will reference it for referrals. Utilizing a combination of experience, personal relationships, and patient feedback, we will refer you to the most appropriate specialist that takes your insurance. We are also happy to refer you out of network if desired.
-
You should check with your insurance company, but most do NOT cover membership fees. However, some Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) will reimburse you for all of or part of your membership fee. We strongly recommend you check with your insurance first.
-
Our doctors are “opted out” of medicare in order to be able to provide concierge service to Medicare patients. Medicare will not cover any of our fees.
-
Unfortunately, Colorado Revised Statutes Title 25.5. Health Care Policy and Financing prohibits Direct Primary Care providers from establishing private contracts with Medicaid patients, for services covered by Medicaid.
-
Yes! Dr. Flick is trained to see patients of all ages, including children. This is a new element of our practice we are seeking to develop and grow. If you would like your child or grandchild to receive care, please give us a call or send us an email.
-
Absolutely. If appropriate, our doctors can treat over the phone or with a virtual video visit. Sometimes, an in-office visit is needed for further assessment.
-
This practice is shared by Drs. Lane and Flick. You can see either physician. If you are more comfortable seeing a female physician for any issue, you can schedule with Dr. Lane or vice versa for patients that prefer a male physician. See below regarding vacation.
-
Not at this time. Dr. Marinelli is working in an administrative and supportive role. Please check back for future developments.
-
When Dr. Lane is out, Dr. Flick is available and vice versa. While the situation has yet to arise, in the rare event that both doctors are out, a covering physician will be available.
-
No. Full time hospitalists staff our local hospitals. A follow up visit at Touchstone should be arranged when you are discharged from the hospital.
-
The doctors use reasonable efforts to limit the practice so they can assure same-day urgent scheduling and quality time with patients. Therefore, when the practice fills to capacity, a waiting list will be started, and as patients leave the practice, new patients can be added on a first-come, first-served basis. If we are full, we invite you to join our waitlist.
-
Please contact us during regular business hours. For emergencies, please call 911. If you feel your circumstances are extenuating, you can call after hours and be directed to the doctor on call. A $60 fee is charged if treatment is required (for example, prescription of a new medication).
-
Yes, text and email communication is available for simple questions and communication. For more detailed questions or concerns, we recommend a phone call or office visit.
-
Yes we do. Home visits are offered at the physicians’ discretion and as time allows. If you need medical care but cannot get out of the house, you are welcome to request a house call.
